Embrace the Sweetness of Life

A few days ago, I went grocery shopping. I was putting things away in the cabinets. Despite my intuition telling me to put an item elsewhere, I stuffed it in a cabinet. As soon as I did, a tiny sample bottle of maple syrup crashed to the floor. Unfortunately, it was made of glass and the bottle cracked open in several places once it hit the tile floor. A deeper analogy for life came to my mind as I cleaned up the scene. When we try to cram to much into one space, we lose the sweetness of life. Although I was cleaning up a literal maple syrup which fell out of a literal cabinet, I still could see the overarching theme. Think about a time when you have overbooked yourself and even if they were fun activities originally, going from back-to-back events can be stressful and draining. When you leave room in your calendar, that is when the spontaneous fun of life can breathe.

I ask you to embrace the sweetness of life by not cramming too much into one space. That may mean different things to different people. If you can, take something off your proverbial plate. Delegate, ask for help, or move things around on your calendar. Embrace the sweetness that can come from allowing yourself more time to do the things you want to do.
