Friction! Frustrating or Necessary?

Trick question! Friction can be both frustrating and necessary. Friction can be necessary, but it doesn’t have to be frustrating. Friction is the contrast which helps us know what we do want and what we want to change. There is so much friction going on today in the world, but contrast helps each of us to focus on what requires change. ¬†Friction can be seen as conflict in the present moment, but you have to ask yourself, “Does this represent something more?” Life is like a mirror. The events which happen are always helping us to know what could use healing or change. When everything is going well, the less than great stuff really stands out. Do these contrasting event represent long-held anger, guilt or resentment? First, let’s talk about it on a personal level.

My sister and I rarely fight, but today we had out a light to things that had to be healed and released. We brought up things we must heal as a team and things that we must work on individually. The day before I had prayed for my sister to have a profound heart healing and for her to see that she deserves the best. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for. I didn’t know exactly what I was asking for, but I know divine timing brought everything up at this time, because we were ready at the soul level to heal it. She was ready for forgive me and I was ready to forgive myself. If times seem difficult, pray to see the situation from a higher level. When you can look at the event as the observer of your mind, you are more likely to be able to speak from a more loving place than react from the ego.

Secondly, at a global level, contrast can be seen in the many protests and petitions. People are fighting for the ideas of what is “right”. The fight between misinformation and information is on-going, but correct information always prevails over time. Some change is quick and other change is slow. When the contrast feels overwhelming, temporarily step back so you can center yourself and pray. Like an injured solider on the battlefield, sometimes you have to push through and keep going. Sometimes, the injury is so bad a solider must be sent to a facility for long-term care before going back into the fray. In this day and age, you must make the care for yourself with yoga, meditation, and reiki. Make time to see healers. Our own spiritual growth is not a one person show, we work together in smaller teams (personal level) and as a larger team (global level). Beyond the global level, there are larger levels like the cosmic level. There is so much going on and there is so much more than meets the eye. Even if times feel frustrating, know that this friction is necessary.
