On Sunday when we were at my niece’s confirmation Mass I heard the bishop say “stand up for what you believe is right even if you’re standing alone.” At the time, I really needed to hear that. The whole weekend I pretty much ended up eating my own meals and feeling by the separate for the rest of the family. Part of that is I couldn’t stomach the smell of cooking smells so I ended up heating up my own food by myself at different times but also partly because I’m vegan and I was just eating different food than everyone else. So when the priest said “stand up for what you believe is right, even if you are standing alone,” it really hit a cord for me. I wanted to take the opportunity to encourage others to stand up for what you believe is right even if you are standing alone.
